Start Again
Large Green Abstract Painting
Acrylic, Pencil and Charcoal on Canvas
At the time, this was the largest painting I had ever done and it remains one very dear to my heart. Large scale works are what first drew me to art and it was a long journey for me to finally be able to work at this scale. I felt the only way I could do justice to the scale of this piece was to, in essence, Start Again, to go back to my roots and what inspired me in the works of Twombly, Basquiat, Teddy Millington-Drake and many others: ethereal tones with complex, considered composition.
