Commissions

To start I need three things: the size you want, the colours you want, and the composition you want. The simplest way to explain the composition you want is to browse my portfolio, select some pieces that catch your eye and then tell me what you DO and DON’T like about them. Additionally, if you have photos of the room the piece will hang in that can show me the colours/tones in the room, the textures of the fabric on the couch or chairs or the shade of your lighting fixtures etc. The more information and specificity you can provide at the beginning, the easier the process is for us both.

Once you have provided me with the size, colours and composition, I will send you a full quote within one week. If you accept the quote, I require a deposit of 50% upfront to cover the costs of the canvas and paints, and then a final 50% payment upon completion. Along with your quote I can provide a small-scale paper sketch version of what your final piece will look like if you desire.

While I complete your commission you will have the opportunity to make minor changes at two stages.

  1. Upon completion of the base layer, I will send photos to confirm the exact colour, shading, style etc. I allow for one set of minor changes here free of charge, e.g. slightly lighter or darker tones, however for any major changes such as repainting in an entirely new colour, there will be a $50/hour fee added.
  2. Upon completion of the final design, I will send a second set of photos for approval. Again, I allow one set of minor changes free of charge, e.g. adding scribbles or shapes, changing the colour of a shape/increasing a shapes size. However, for any major changes such as covering and redoing large sections of the piece, there will be a $50/hour fee added.

I strongly encourage taking plenty of time in this design/consultation phase to precisely plan and explain the colours and style you want for your piece to avoid any delays and additional fees resulting from extensive changes. This makes the process more efficient for me and you will get your beautiful new commission piece faster and without any extra costs.

The current lead time for commissions is 4-8 weeks from payment of the initial 50% deposit, however for extra-large canvases that need to be custom made or where there are extensive changes requested, there may be an additional waiting period.

I look forward to working with you to create the perfect piece for your home.
