Any Colour You Like
Red Abstract Painting
Acrylic, Pencil and Oil Pastel on Canvas
Whenever I’m still awake hours after I went to bed I turn to music to distract me into a few short hours of sleep before the only music I hate (my alarm) starts blaring. More often than not I listen to the entire Dark Side of the Moon album. For the first 33 minutes and 35 seconds my plan is working. My eyes have grown heavy. The pillow has softened. The blanket hugs me. But at 33 minutes and 36 seconds it all changes. The synth kicks in on Any Colour You Like and my mind turns into a kaleidoscope. I’ve tried many times to recreate those 3 minutes and 26 seconds of blistering colour, but this is my first successful attempt.
