Scribble Abstract Painting
This piece was created out of a combination of two of my greatest inspirations; Cy Twombly and boredom. Cy Twombly speaks for himself, boredom perhaps less so. I was lucky enough to have been raised just in time to not have had an iPad for a childhood best friend. Enter boredom. We spent countless hours together, and in that time if I had a pencil in hand, paper nearby, and no homework to do, chances are I was scribbling all over the page.
The scribbling was just enough of a thing to do to free my mind up for ideas. Those scribbles fueled the adventures of my childhood. I didn’t know it then, but those pages would’ve meant so much to me now if I’d kept them. But, like most 8-year-olds, I never thought too far into the future. The pages were promptly scrunched up and tossed in the bin as soon as an adventure popped into my head.
As you can see, I still scribble now. But thankfully I’m wise enough to not throw this away. Until you buy it, this piece will be hanging in my office to help free my mind whenever writers block or my old friend boredom stop by.
